The crew of the Pearl did their very best to make out the words that reached them and followed the orders given to the best of their ability. Gibbs, the first mate, stood at the helm, barking out orders and struggling to have himself heard over the awful bellow of the wind. Harsh raindrops hit against her sails and deck with brutal force, bombarding her crew as they fought against the storm, surrounded by the roar of timber and ocean.
The Black Pearl rocked violently as waves crashed into her, leaning this way and that as she fought the winds to stay upright.
